Our History

Our journey began in 2000 as Budget Plastic Company Ltd, manufacturing rubbish bags and reprocessed pellets. Following a name change in 2007, we evolved again in 2017 to become Aotearoa NZ Made Limited, a name that reflects our deep commitment to promoting New Zealand-made products from 100% recycled materials.

Based in Palmerston North, our dedicated team of 25 operates 24/6 across two sites. Our business is focused on reprocessing post-consumer plastics—mainly milk and detergent bottles, ice cream containers, and plastic film sourced from across the North Island—back into high-quality granules.

These granules are the lifeblood of our operation. We use them in our own manufacturing or sell them to other Kiwi companies to create their own sustainable products. Annually, we proudly circulate approximately 2,000 tonnes of recycled granules, damp-proof film, and rubbish bags back into the economy.

Buying New Zealand-made recycled products is a powerful choice. It significantly reduces our nation's carbon footprint by diverting materials that would otherwise be exported or landfilled. This has become a critical part of the story for major companies who are now deeply conscious of their environmental impact, and we are proud to partner with them to find innovative solutions for their plastic waste.
